The War on Diabetes is very real, with the number of diabetic patients in Singapore increasing over the years. Diabetes is a long-term medical condition in which the blood sugar levels of a person remain higher than normal all the time. It occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, a hormone that reduces the blood glucose levels, or when insulin does not work properly. We speak to Dr Stanley Liew and Dr Nitish Mishra from Raffles Diabetes & Endocrine Centre to shed more light on this disease.
