Asst Prof Chua was one of the first few Urologists in Singapore to be trained in both UroLift and Rezum. UroLift makes use of implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way, so as to increase the opening of the urethra, while the other option, Rezum makes use of the thermal energy from steam to gently kill the excess prostate cells.Aside from clinical practice, Asst Prof Chua is also actively involved in clinical research and teaching. He travels frequently in the region to conduct training in Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) for stone diseases.
