Dr Ker Liang graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2009. As an undergraduate, she was invited to participate in the Otolaryngology Society Book Prize. Dr Ker Liang started her training in Otolaryngology in 2011, under the ACGME-I Residency Training Program in Otorhinolaryngology (Singapore). Her degrees include the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) Edinburgh and the Masters of Medicine in Otolaryngology with the Graduate Medical School, National University Singapore.
Dr Ker Liang is currently a Consultant-Specialist with the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, at the National University Hospital. She completed her Laryngology fellowship training in 2020 under the guidance of Professor Marc Remacle in Centre Hospitalier Luxembourg, Luxembourg. As a Laryngologist, she specialised in treating disorders related to the throat, voice, and swallowing. She is also well-versed in General Otolaryngological conditions. Dr Ker Liang provides specialist outpatient services as well surgical care for patients in all three hospitals in Singapore’s western hospital cluster; namely, National University Hospital (NUH), Alexandra Hospital, as well as Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).
Dr Ker Liang enjoys teaching and is an Assistant Professor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM), NUS. She is currently serving as the NUS-NUH Otolaryngology department Undergraduate Medical Director, which oversees the training of the medical students from YLLSOM, NUS. She is also actively involved in the training of the postgraduate junior doctors and residents in the department.

Dr Ker enjoys teaching and is a clinical educator with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. She is actively involved in the teaching of medical undergraduates, as well as postgraduate junior doctors and residents in the department. She is currently enrolled in the CenMED Faculty Development Program to hone her skills as a clinical educator.
In the area of research, Dr Ker collaborated with the School of Design and Environment, NUS, to produce a working myringotomy model. This myringotomy model provides the junior doctors with increased opportunities in learner-centric stimulator training, which results in enhanced patient safety when performing such procedures. She is currently working to develop this myringotomy model further, to allow for a broader application of this practise-based learning.
