Profile
Dr Sia Ching Hui received his medical training from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and graduated in 2012. He was then conferred the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2015 and the Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in 2016. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 2017 at NUHS, serving as Academic Chief Resident. Thereafter, he completed his Cardiology Senior Residency in 2020 with NUHS. During residency training, he also attended the Singapore Chief Residency Programme (Cohort 6). He is currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Investigation degree from NUS on a Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship.
Dr Sia’s clinical and research interests involves using multi-modality cardiac imaging to investigate mechanisms of disease, diagnose, prognosticate, and guide management of patients. He also has a special interest in Cardio-Neurology and cardiomyopathies.
Dr Sia also has a concurrent academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer, Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine under the Junior Academic Faculty Scheme. He has won more than SGD$100000 in research grants thus far, published more than 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals to date and serves as Associate Editor for the European Heart Journal Case Reports. He also presents regularly at international conferences and reviews regularly for journals.
In addition, Dr Sia is a keen educator. He received his Certificate in Medical and Health Professions Education from the Centre for Medical Education at NUS in 2018 and completed the NUHS Medical Education Distinction Track Residency in 2019. He regularly conducts tutorials for residents and medical students and serves as a mentor under various mentorship schemes with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is experienced in organizing courses and supervising students for clinical and research attachments.
