Dr Voon Li Wern is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. She was trained in the specialty of Ophthalmology in Singapore and underwent specialty fellowship training for 2 years in the fields of Cornea, Contact Lenses & Refractive Surgery at the Oxford Eye Hospital, Oxford, UK & Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK. She also worked as a Locum Cornea Consultant at the Oxford Eye Hospital.
Dr Voon is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and was actively involved in undergraduate as well as postgraduate training & education. She held a post of Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and has published widely in local, regional & international peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Voon Li Wern presently runs a busy private practice. The clinic, Voon Eye Clinic Pte Ltd, has its roots originating from one of the pioneers in ophthalmology in Singapore in the 1970s. Her father, Dr Voon Gone Lin, was one of the founding partners of the practice. It was subsequently re-named Voon Eye Clinic Pte Ltd when Dr Voon Li Wern joined the established practice in 2008. Dr Voon has a special interest in cataract, dry eye disease, cornea and contact lens-related conditions. Her private practice also manages cases of glaucoma, vitreoretinal disease, refractive problems such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmastism and presbyopia, uveitis and inflammatory eye disease, oculoplastic and eyelid problems as well as childhood eye disease. The clinic is well equipped with modern, updated equipment including the retinal camera, automated perimetry, ocular coherence tomography and optical biometer.
Dr Voon is accredited with prestigious private hospitals such as the Parkway IHH Hospitals, Mount Alvernia Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital.
