Dr Chuang is an accredited specialist in Infectious Diseases and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore, and was subsequently elected to the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Chuang worked as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the National University Health System. He had led several quality improvement programs focusing on prevention of catheter-associated urinary tract infections and optimizing care of soft tissue infections, and was also involved in clinical audit and antimicrobial stewardship. He was also involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training, and was appointed as Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Chuang is a member of the Singapore Infectious Diseases Society, Infection Control Association (Singapore), and the executive committee of the Asian Association of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) & Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). He also has the privilege of serving the community at various voluntary welfare organisations. He had contributed to the National Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines for Acute Healthcare Facilities by the Ministry of Health, as well as the Urological Association of Asia – Asian Association of UTI/STI Guidelines for Urinary Tract Infections and Sexually Transmitted Infections.
