Dr Lim Choon Pin joined private practice in end June 2018 and practises as a Consultant Cardiologist at both Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. Concurrently he is a Visiting Consultant at National Heart Centre of Singapore and an accredited specialist in many other leading private hospitals such as Farrer Park Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Mount Alvernia Hospital.

Dr Lim Choon Pin graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2003. He subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 2008. He began Cardiology specialization in 2009 at the National Heart Centre of Singapore and completed his training and received the Certificate of Specialist Accreditation (Cardiology) in 2012.

Dr Lim completed his clinical fellowship in Heart Failure at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Australia in 2013 under the Ministry of Health Human Manpower Development Programme scholarship. During the fellowship, he acquired competency in managing patients with advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory devices. His other interest is in Echocardiography. He received his accreditation in adult transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2013.

Dr Lim worked as a full-time Consultant Cardiologist in the Department of Cardiology from 2012 to 2018. He is accredited for the subspecialties in Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation, Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices and Advanced Echocardiography (including transoesophageal echocardiography).

As an active member of the undergraduate teaching fraternity, Dr Lim Choon Pin was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at both the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and National University of Singapore, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He was appointed as an Examiner in the Final Year Medical Examinations for both medical schools in 2017 and 2018. As a mentor to trainee physicians and cardiologists, he was involved in post-graduate training as Clinical Physician Faculty Member, SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency Program and a Clinical Core Faculty Member, SingHealth Senior Residency Program (Cardiology). He was also involved in the training of nurses and medical technologists as a lecturer at the Advanced Diploma in Nursing at Nanyang Polytechnic and the Diploma in Biomedical Science (Cardiac Technology) at Singapore Polytechnic.
